On November 24, 2025, the FAIR Data and Software Award Lower Saxony was presented during the Data Days Lower Saxony. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Prof. Dr. York Sure-Vetter<\/strong>, who acted as patron for the award, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Manfred Krafczyk<\/strong>, Vice President for Digitalization and Sustainability at the Technical University of Braunschweig, for his motivating welcome speech, and Prof. Dr. Norbert Lossau<\/strong> from the Hochschule.digital Niedersachsen for the ceremonial presentation of the award to the winners.<\/p>\n

The award was presented in three categories: Dataset<\/strong> and Software<\/strong>, each with prize money of \u20ac4,500, as well as a special prize<\/strong>, awarded for the first time, with prize money of \u20ac500.<\/p>\n

For the second time, FDM-NDS is announcing the FAIR Data and Software Award Lower Saxony<\/strong> and warmly invites you to submit your contributions by August 10, 2025<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

What are we looking for?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We are seeking published datasets and software that adhere to the FAIR principles<\/a><\/strong> or the FAIR4ResearchSoftware principles<\/strong><\/a>. We welcome submissions from all disciplines \u2013 whether from the humanities and social sciences, life sciences, natural sciences, or engineering. Show us your outstanding data and software projects!<\/p>\n

Who can submit entries?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Submissions of publications can be made by all scientists who are members or affiliates of a university in Lower Saxony or who work at a non-university research institution in Lower Saxony.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the prize?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The best data publication and the best software publication will each be awarded \u20ac4,500. Additionally, a digital badge will be awarded. The award ceremony will take place during the Data Days Niedersachsen<\/a><\/strong> on November 24, 2025, in Braunschweig, where the winners will have the opportunity to briefly present their work. Die beste Daten- und die beste Softwarever\u00f6ffentlichung werden mit jeweils 4.500 \u20ac pr\u00e4miert. Zus\u00e4tzlich wird ein digitaler Badge verliehen. Die Preisverleihung findet im Rahmen der Data Days Niedersachsen<\/a><\/strong> von FDM-NDS am 24. November 2025 in Braunschweig statt, wobei die Gewinnerinnen und Gewinner die Chance haben, ihre Arbeiten kurz vorzustellen.
